Consul-General Li Dong attended the National Day Celebration and Safe Studying Abroad Event held by SA Chinese Students Associations

On 22 October, Consul-General Li Dong attended the event jointly held by the Chinese Students Association of the University of Adelaide, the University of South Australia and Flinders University to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and Safe Studying Abroad. Consul Zhong Xingxiang, Consul Ding Li, and about 300 representatives from the three universities, the SA Multicultural Committee and the local Chinese community attended the event.

Consul-General Li delivered a warm speech to celebrate the 74th anniversary of the motherland with the guests and students. He hoped that the students would be based in China and looking at the world, have responsibilities and dreams, study hard and be down-to-earth, and play a unique role in the future for China-Australia friendship and cooperation, meanwhile pay attention to self-protection and physical and mental health during the study period, to study safely.

Consul General Li also presented awards to winners of the 2023 scholarship for government-funded students, the 2022 scholarship for outstanding international students, and the SA University Innovation and Start-up Team Award.

The students warmly congratulated the birthday of their home country and expressed their appreciation to the Consulate-General for its help and guidance as well as its advocacy and consular protection work to ensure safe study abroad for all of them, also their gratitude to the country and their pride and honour.

During the event, the students and local Chinese performed a variety of cultural and artistic programmes.
