On 24 October, Consul-General Li Dong paid a visit to the Minister for Trade and Investment, Mr. Nick Champion, to exchange views on the further development of economic and trade relations between China and South Australia. Deputy Consul-General He Jiangchuan attended.

Consul-General Li expressed his appreciation to the South Australian Department of Trade and Investment for its efforts to promote practical economic and trade cooperation between China and South Australia. He stressed that the economies of South Australia and China are highly complementary and hoped the two sides would continue to maintain good interactions in the context of improving China-Australia relations, and work together to promote the two sides to enhance the level of cooperation in more areas such as renewable energy, minerals, and so on.

Mr. Champion welcomed Consul-General Li to South Australia, emphasizing that the recent positive developments in China-Australia relations have boosted the confidence of South Australia's political and business communities in developing cooperation with China and that he would like to maintain close contact with the Consulate-General.
