On June 8th, Yuncai Mei, the acting Chinese Consul-General in Adelaide gave a speech at the South Australian China Export Forum jointly held by Australia China Business Council and Department of Trade, Tourism and Investment of South Australia.
In his speech, Mr. Mei stated that this year marks the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening up. Over the past 40 years, China has consistently adhered to its basic national policy of opening to the world, contributed more than 30% to the world's economic growth for many years and became a key anchor and driving force for the world economy. The continuous deepening of China-South Australia economic and trade relations not only brought tangible benefits to both peoples, but also strongly promoted the steady growth of mutual economies.
He stressed that China will never detract from to its firm resolve to expand its opening up and will use the new platform of China International Import Expo to continuously improve the level of trade liberalization and facilitation, make economic globalization more open, inclusive, balanced and beneficial to all, contributing a more vigorous, inclusive and sustainable economic globalization.
David Ridgway, Minister for Investment, Tourism and Trade in South Australia, stated in his speech that the new South Australian Government attaches great importance to the cooperation with China, will further expand exports, and strive to push our economic and trade ties to a new level.
